Roald is an excellent instructor and one of the kindest people I have met. His lessons are well organized and designed to build both skills and confidence per lesson. With him, you can come up with your own plan for what you want to practice during each lesson. Of course, he always has a lesson plan prepared too. He understands what you need and makes suggestions that work best for your level and situation.

I really debated whether I should post this or not, seeing all the rave reviews. However, I think it is important to speak from my perspective, nevertheless. I do not doubt that Roald is an excellent instructor - in just one lesson and a half, he taught me quite a lot. What he is not good at, though, is basic empathy. For an instructor supposedly certified for driving anxiety, this was really shocking. I signed up for a refresher course with him, being transparent about my extremely limited experience driving. I got my driving license 10 years ago in a different country, and I do not know how to safely operate a vehicle anymore, hence my asking for his (expensive) help. Well, this man decided to tell me to my face that I should never drive again after just 2.5h with him. Absolutely ridiculous, as if it was not his job to teach me how to drive in a safe environment. He went on a power trip, braking so hard that we both jumped out of our seats in the middle of an empty road, under the guise of "explaining to me how to brake smoothly". He guilt-tripped me for 30 MINUTES about my slightly abrupt braking in traffic. Well, I am sorry, I cannot improve without practice, and that is precisely why I tried to take his lessons - if he found me dangerous for the traffic, it should have been on him to guide me to an empty spot, rather than endlessly berating someone very obviously anxious. He made me cry so much that I had to pull into a parking lot and cancel the rest of my package with him. Not an experience I wish upon anyone, considering 1 lesson with him cost me 7h working at my minimum wage job. I do NOT recommend him for people with driving anxiety. Even the way he was looking at me while I was crying made it very obvious he did not know how to handle it, and he is lacking basic human empathy.

Roald helped me regain confidence after a minor car accident and not driving for ~5 years. Going on the road again seemed frightening, but now I can even drive during road trips with friends :) Thanks, Roald!

Onzettend fijne rijlessen gehad van Roald, altijd met veel zin naar de les gegaan omdat het zo relaxt en op je eigen tempo is. 100% een aanrader voor iedereen, in 1 keer geslaagd en alles te danken aan deze mooie rijschool.

Naast dat de rijlessen hartstikke gezellig waren, waren zij ook erg fijn en nuttig. Het voelde nooit alsof je iets zonder reden deed of dat je alleen maar hetzelfde rondje reed. Roald is ook erg rustig en kan je duidelijk het rijden uitleggen, van wat je al goed doet tot wat nog beter moet. Voor iedereen een aanrader!
