I recently attended the STL Test Day at E and R Training in Nieuwegein as part of the selection process for the vrachtwagenchauffeur training program through Randstad. My experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. The day started with a computer test, but I was unexpectedly asked to stop before finishing it and immediately move to the driving test. Because of this interruption I lost several unanswered questions and my concentration was affected. During the driving test itself, the situation became even more problematic. This program is clearly designed for people who have never driven a truck before, yet the instructor behaved as if candidates were already experienced truck drivers. When I asked basic questions about the truck controls and buttons, the reaction was dismissive and even mocking rather than supportive. The instructor also gave directions very quickly and sometimes in informal street Dutch. I had already explained that my Dutch level is B2, but the instructions were not adjusted at all. This created confusion during the drive, especially when left and right directions were given rapidly. What was particularly troubling was the difference in attitude during the test. Another candidate who was Dutch drove first and the atmosphere appeared relaxed and supportive. However, when it was my turn, the tone changed significantly and I experienced a far less patient and respectful approach. For context, I have been driving cars for about 15 years without accidents and I take road safety very seriously. Nevertheless, the driving test was ended very quickly and the final conclusion was “dangerous driving”. In my opinion, the confusing instructions and the overall attitude during the test contributed to this outcome. Safety evaluations are important, but candidates should be treated with professionalism, clarity, and respect. Selection processes that are meant to evaluate new drivers should provide clear communication and a supportive environment rather than confusion and dismissive behavior. I hope this organization will seriously review how these test days are conducted so future candidates are treated fairly and professionally.

Kortom: top rijschool en top instructeur!
