De Rijmeester

This is the third motorcycle school I attended after failing my exam twice at two different riding schools. From the first lesson, I knew that Martijn was a great teacher because of the following reasons: 1. He made me feel comfortable during the lessons by speaking calmly through the walkie-talkie. 2. He never focused on passing the exam, but was always telling me his job is to teach me how to ride. With this, my focus also became to be a good rider, and not just pass the exam. 3. Martijn provided valuable tips on planning ahead on the road and anticipating situations. 4. In my last classes I was alot more confident and felt a sense of calmness. His tips even made my car driving better, even though he was teaching me to ride a motorcycle. 5. He taught me everything in English and ensured he spent time to explain to me everything before and after every ride. I would write down the tips and read them before every class, which was very helpful. I highly recommend this school to anyone wanting to learn how to ride a motorcycle. My experience was fantastic, and I have gained lifelong lessons that I will carry with me on every ride. I passed my exam on 25-03-25, and I am so happy with the overall experience!

Martijn is a really good and fun instructor, he can also speak English very well for those who do not speak Dutch well. I was driving in my own country and had habits there, but Martijn is a very good instructor and helped me adapt to Dutch traffic rules immediately. All I had to do during the exam was pretend to be driving with him, I did that and passed the first time. I wholeheartedly recommend him to everyone. Thank you Martijn. (Emin)

I found de Rijmeester in Meppel even though I don't live there. It completely changed my perspective about driving lessons in the Netherlands. Martijn speaks very good English and he could see easily what should be improved in my driving. This is important if you come from a different country and have a different driving culture. You would need an instructor that understands it well and builds your confidence (with positive encouragement). I have learned a lot about how to be a good independent driver. This came with many thoughts that cheered me up instead of making me frustrated. I am happy I chose de Rijmeester. Thank you again.

De Rijmeester; aka Martijn, is incredibly professional, patient and overall just an incredible teacher. I didn't have a single problem communicating with him as his English is close to that of a native. It is because of Martijn I am a proud license owner that feels confident and safe being behind the wheel.
