I had high hopes when I signed up with 1BASIS after a smooth trial lesson. Unfortunately, the experience quickly turned frustrating due to a lack of transparency and poor coordination. Instructor Unavailability: After paying €2,110, I was told to contact the instructor directly—only to find out he was unavailable for two weeks due to a family emergency. This was never communicated to me beforehand. Once he returned, he informed me he would also be taking time off for holidays and might need an additional two weeks due to a family health issue. I was told there is only one instructor who can teach en English so be aware that if you dont speak Dutch this is not a good option as they can not offer you alternative options Misleading Communication: I was assured my requested schedule (weekday evenings and Saturdays) could be accommodated, but they never confirm the dates or the exam. Instead I was offered one class on a Sunday (father's day ) which is really not want I wanted. Unmet Expectations: I was transparent from the beginning about needing to complete lessons within a specific timeframe and book the exam immediately after. Due to the instructor’s extended unavailability, this timeline became impossible—resulting in a delay of at least 2 weeks initially, with a possible 4 more weeks added later. Refund Issues: I requested a refund due to the service not being delivered as requested. While I did receive most of it back, €275 was withheld, despite the cancellation being due to their inability to meet the schedule I shared in advance —not a change of mind on my part. This experience was unnecessarily stressful.
