I had a terrible experience with Driving School Nelen. They are completely unprofessional, inconsistent, and only care about taking your money. Misleading and contradictory feedback – My instructor told me I was ready for the exam and encouraged me to book it. Later, when I changed instructors for the third time, the new instructor told me I was not ready at all! This shows a complete lack of proper assessment and guidance. Refused to reschedule or refund – When I realized I wasn’t ready and requested to change the exam date, they ignored my request. Later, when I moved to Almere and again asked for a reschedule, they refused to help and kept my money. No flexibility, no accountability. Unprofessional and unhelpful behavior – When I asked my instructor if someone wanted to exchange exam slots with me, the school got offended. Instead of helping, they told me they would not even drive me to my own exam. They ignored my calls, leaving me completely stranded. Lack of proper teaching – Every lesson, I had to ask what we were going to learn, what I needed to improve, or if we could practice in the exam area. They never took the initiative, and it felt like they were just wasting time instead of properly preparing me. I put so much time, effort, and money into this, and now I’m left with nothing. They overcharge, give inconsistent feedback, and don’t care about their students at all. Avoid this driving school at all costs! They are unprofessional, unfair, and a complete scam.

I highly recommend Nelen to anyone looking for a trustworthy driving school in Amsterdam centrum. Great service, and perfect packages available for all. I completed my theory and passed in the first test within two weeks time, and then passed my final practical exam after a 30 hour package. Had a great instructor, Mehmet, who was very understanding and would give advice in a non degrading way. Really wanted the best for me. Overall great driving school

I wasted my time and money and learned nothing in 24 hours of driving with Mehmet. Not only did he have no plan for how and what he would teach me, but I also had to ask every time to practice the highway or drive with the navigation. He never took the time to drive around exam routes and taught me special maneuvers 2 classes before my mock exam, again only cause I reminded him. Minimal effort; instead, we went to his house every class to pick up food or drinks in the drive-through. It took me a trial class with another smaller school to realize he was either trying to fail me or really didn't care. He was on his phone most of the time instead of teaching me. Don't go for a big school, I am now finally learning everything from the beginning with a great instructor from a smaller school, because they actually care about their students.

Received my driving license last week. I was tought by the Nelen instructors from zero to passing the CBR driving test. Lessons were organized in super comfortable manner, I was picked up and dropped off at my place. Instructors were nice, calm and professional. Thanks Nelen!

I've been to a few driving schools around Amsterdam before coming to here and I was surprised how good Nelen is! Instructors are very professional, patient and really interested in helping you getting your license (I got mine after the first try!) instead of keeping you as a permanent revenue stream (like ANWB). Highly recommended!
