ANWB-Rijopleiding Eindhoven

The lessons car stops just after the traffic light going to the right, in the middle of the road. Please be aware you have other traffic also behind you and don’t block it.

I find my experience with ANWB really pleasant and professional. I can only say positive things about the organization and my instructor - Gerard. He is patient and direct, has unbelievable experience and prepares you not only for the exam, but for many situations that will come in the traffic later. Before that I was at a different driving school, where I had a feeling that the course was endless, every week more lessons without an exam in planning. With ANWB, the moment I entered I was presented a plan: "this is what we are going to teach you, this is the amount of lessons, after that you are ready for the exam". And it worked. I recommend it to everybody.

In two words: terrible experience. Unprofessional instructor and administrator. They gave me a nice instructor during the trial lesson but the instructor for actual lessons was a different guy. During the lesson he was offensive and shouting a lot which makes the lesson really stressful and the learning inefficient. When I asked him for explanations he responded in a rude and gaslighting manner. I decided to cancel the classes after the first lesson because this way of teaching is ineffective. However, they charged me €150 for administration cost - this amount is NOWHERE mentioned in the terms and conditions and it is also way too excessive. The only explanation she gave was “this is just standard for everyone“. Anyway avoid this school, there are so many better choices in Eindhoven.

Summary: Instructor from ANWB was very poor in understanding the students missing points, teaching and how to make student comfortable in the car. I hope he will solve these missing points in future. I needed to get a driving license in NL. (I have been driving car for 11 years in my country) Therefore, I took 8 lessons from anwb to be ready for the practical exam. The instructor was very bad. When I asked him questions, he always answered in bad temper such as “even the 15 year old person knows that” etc. 8 lessons I had were very unstructural and stressfull because instructor was not teaching anything and always giving last second reactions when I made a mistake which made me more stressed that resulted me having more mistakes. I realised if it continued like this I was gonna fail the practical exam. Therefore, I took 3 extra lessons from another rijschool before the practical exam (rijschool kwaliteit (from instructor ilhan)) Ilhan understood immediately which things I had been missing, we focussed on solving these points. Progress went very fast with him. Because of Ilhan from rijschool kwaliteit, I managed to pass the driving exam in the first try. I should have chosen Ilhan in the first place. My progress would have been a lot faster and a lot less stressfull.

I don’t recommend this school. I failed 4 times with anwb (around 56 hours lessons) although I already have my license in my country. It’s rather expensive and so busy that I have to make all appointments upfront. Every time I fail I need to wait for about one month to get new lessons because they don’t have available time slots. I will recommend smaller driving school which is cheaper and has more flexibility in making appointments.
